This live DJ set was recorded at a lavish private house engagement party, where the brief was to create an authentic Latin celebration filled with energy, great music and unforgettable moments.
From the moment guests arrived, there was a real sense of excitement. The beautiful home had been transformed into the perfect party venue, complete with a pizza truck outside serving fresh food throughout the evening, while inside the living room quickly became the heart of the celebration.
With a playlist centred around reggaeton, salsa, Latin pop and crowd-favourite party hits, this live mix captures exactly how the night unfolded as family and friends came together to celebrate the couple's engagement.
Behind the Mix
One of the things I enjoy most about Latin celebrations is how naturally the music brings people together.
For this engagement party, the couple wanted the soundtrack to reflect their personalities and cultural background, with a strong focus on Latin party hits that would keep the dancefloor moving all night. Rather than treating the living room like a traditional dancefloor, everyone simply embraced the space, creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed, personal and full of energy.
Because the event was held in a private home, it had a completely different feel to a venue reception. Friends and family were constantly moving between conversations, the outdoor food truck and the dancefloor, so reading the room was essential to keeping the energy flowing throughout the night.
The Music Journey
The evening began with relaxed Latin favourites while guests arrived, caught up with family and enjoyed the beautiful home setting.
As the night progressed, the music naturally shifted into reggaeton, salsa and high-energy Latin party anthems that quickly filled the living room with dancers. Familiar singalong tracks, modern Latin hits and global party favourites kept the celebration building, with each transition mixed live to match the atmosphere in the room.
By the end of the night, what had started as an engagement party had become one big celebration, with guests dancing, singing and enjoying every moment together.
Crowd Moments
One of my favourite memories from this night was seeing an ordinary living room transformed into a packed dancefloor.
There was something really special about watching family and friends dancing together in such a personal setting, while outside the pizza truck became its own gathering place before guests headed straight back inside as soon as another favourite song came on.
The couple brought so much positive energy to the evening that it was impossible not to enjoy yourself. Seeing everyone celebrating around them made it clear just how loved they were, and it was incredibly rewarding to be part of such a genuine occasion.
Even more rewarding was receiving a call afterwards asking me to DJ their wedding as well. There's no bigger compliment than clients enjoying the experience so much that they trust me to be part of the next chapter of their story.
