Behind the Mix
When I met with the birthday family before the event, one thing became obvious—we all agreed that nothing gets a dancefloor moving quite like the biggest hits of the 2010s.
Rather than jumping between decades, I built the entire musical journey around the songs this generation grew up with. From commercial dance music and pop anthems to hip hop favourites and club classics, every transition was designed to keep the energy climbing and the dancefloor full.
Because the brief was so clear, I could focus on reading the crowd and building momentum rather than constantly changing direction. Every mix was about creating those "I haven't heard this in years!" moments that had everyone singing along.
The Music Journey
The night began with familiar Australian favourites before quickly moving into some of the biggest club records of the 2010s.
As more guests joined the dancefloor, the set flowed through iconic party anthems from artists including Pitbull, Flo Rida, Rihanna, David Guetta, LMFAO and Avicii, alongside huge singalong moments from Kelly Clarkson, The Veronicas and Justin Bieber.
By blending commercial dance, pop, R&B and hip hop throughout the evening, the energy continued to build naturally, keeping the dancefloor packed right through until the final songs.
Crowd Moments
One of the highlights of the night was watching every new track spark another wave of excitement across the dancefloor.
Each time another 2010s anthem dropped, the reaction was immediate. Friends were singing every lyric, dancing shoulder to shoulder and reliving the songs that had soundtracked school years, parties and unforgettable nights out.
